Description
Our 100% Shetland yarn is made from the finest quality fleeces sourced from smallholders living within 20 miles of our farm, all in Scotland. We take great pride in offering a premium product that is both sustainable and ethical.
Shetland wool is known for its softness, warmth, and durability, making it perfect for a wide range of knitting and crochet projects. Our yarn is available in lace, 4 ply and DK weights, making it versatile and easy to work with. The natural colour of the yarn is a beautiful, heathered grey, reflecting the unique landscape and climate of Scotland.
We also offer a range of hand-dyed colours, all created in our home. We use British-made dyes and traditional techniques to achieve a range of beautiful shades, from muted pastels to bold, vibrant hues. Our colourways are named after villages in the Shetland Isles, paying homage to the rich heritage and history of this iconic island and breed.
Our yarn has a unique texture, with a slight speckling that will add depth and dimension to your projects. This is due to the blend of different coloured fleeces that go into each skein, creating a beautiful, natural effect that is sure to impress.
At our farm, we are committed to sustainable and ethical farming practices. We work closely with local smallholders and young farmers to source our fleeces, supporting our community and reducing our carbon footprint. Our hand-dyeing process is also eco-friendly, we limit and reuse water and limit our energy usage to the strict minimum.
In summary, our 100% Shetland yarn is a premium product that combines quality, sustainability, and tradition. Whether you are a seasoned crafter or just starting out, our yarn is sure to inspire you to create something beautiful, while knowing you are making a positive impact on the world.
So why not add a touch of Scottish charm to your next project with our beautiful, handcrafted yarn?
