Mohair (DK)

Our DK Mohair blend using the Mohair from our very own goats. It is mixed with local Shetland fleeces to produce a soft but strong yarn. Thin and soft enough to be worn against the skin (as socks or gloves) but strong enough to be used in external garment (jumpers, hats) that will stand the test of time. The yarn has a halo whilst not being too fluffy or itchy.

70% Mohair and 30% Shetland.

A range of colours are available, inspired by the colours of Scotland that are around us every day. We create each individual colour in our own home and only use British made dyes to reduce our carbon footprint.

Double Knit, Scottish yarn, around 230m per 100g. 21 stitches per 10cm with 4mm.

Description

Welcome to our world of handcrafted yarns, where quality meets sustainability!

Our Angora goat Mohair and Shetland yarn is a blend of 70% Mohair and 30% Shetland wool, all sourced from Scotland, where we are located. We take great pride in offering a high-quality product that is eco-friendly and cruelty-free.

Our farm is dedicated to producing the finest quality Mohair from our Angora goats. We take special care in raising and caring for our goats, ensuring they are healthy and happy. Our no-kill policy means that our goats live out their natural lives on the farm, providing us with their exquisite fleece.

Our Mohair and Shetland yarn is available in both DK and 4 ply weights, making it perfect for a variety of knitting and crochet projects. The DK weight has 260 meters of yarn per 100 g, making it easy to work with and perfect for larger projects.

All of our yarns are hand-dyed in small batches in our home. We take great care in choosing our dyes, using only British ones from a small family business. We do not use any imported dyes. Each skein is unique, with variations in colour and shading that reflect the natural beauty of the yarn.

Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our farm and dye practices. We use recycled material where possible and all our packaging and materials are recyclable and/or compostable. We try to reduce our carbon footprint as much as we possibly can.

In summary, our Angora goat Mohair and Shetland yarn is a premium product that combines quality, sustainability, and ethical farming practices. Whether you are a seasoned crafter or just starting out, our yarn is sure to inspire you to create something beautiful, while knowing you are making a positive impact on the world.
